“Wonderland Weekly” newspaper project I made in middle school

I stumbled upon this today while going through some things in storage. It’s a project I did in middle school when we were learning about newspapers in English class. We had to base it upon a book we’d read. I was obsessed with Alice even at that time, so it seemed a natural choice. I think it worked really well for the assignment. I kind of got lazy as it went on, my neat, small print becoming large and messy, and I honestly don’t know why I thought Lewis Carroll was Alice’s uncle — I must have read it somewhere. Give me a break, I was eleven!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it 😀  Continue reading ““Wonderland Weekly” newspaper project I made in middle school”

Alice in Wonderland tourism in NYC

New York City is a fantastic place for fans of Alice in Wonderland to visit. In 2015, it was the epicenter of the American celebration of Alice150, as the Morgan Museum and Library temporarily housed the original manuscript of Alice’s Adventures Under Ground, on loan from the British Library.

This is a guide to points of interest for Alice fans in NYC, and I hope it will be helpful to anyone planning a trip to this incredible city.

It also contains spoilers of Alice Through the Looking Glass and of the play Then She Fell, and assumes the reader is familiar with the first Tim Burton Alice movie, and with the original books.

Welcome to my Alice blog!

Hi, I’m Ashleigh. I’ve been collecting Alice in Wonderland stuff since 2001. I was interested in Alice as a pretty young child, from seeing the 1951 cartoon and watching the very-1990s “Adventures in Wonderland” on the Disney Channel. My mom bought me my first copy of the book second-hand, and my dad gave me an interactive CD-ROM of the book for my tenth birthday. Playing with it on the computer quickly became one of my favorite things to do, and then I was hooked.
